尼龙轮是磨料磨具的重要分支产品，是继砂带砂轮等强切削研磨产品之后的研磨产品。尼龙轮产品主要由尼龙纤维网、研磨介质(矿砂)、粘结树脂等主要成分组成，其中可能添加吸热助剂、填料、色料等各种助剂。
尼龙轮产品主要分两大类，叠合轮和卷紧轮。叠合轮由工业白洁布(Nylon Prebond)通过辊胶涂布的方法(胶中含粘结剂和磨料等)涂布并一片一片堆叠压合并在烤箱中烘烤固化，最后冲切而成。卷紧轮通过同样的方法涂布后，在一特制管芯上收卷成棒，并烤制固化而成。
尼龙轮产品以尼龙Web的三维网络为力学支持，研磨工件中具有弹性研磨、冷切削、防堵等特点。比同粒号砂轮砂带线纹更细腻、柔和、光亮。比布轮、麻轮切削力更强，线纹更清晰。因此，尼龙轮常用于砂轮砂带后道砂光处理以及电镀和镜面光前道处理。因此，尼龙轮也是表面处理(Surface conditioning)的重要磨具，其处理出来的线纹具有较好的观赏性，广泛应用于家用五金产品后道处理。
