The difference between nylon wheels and polyurethane wheels

To understand the difference between nylon and polyurethane wheels, one must first have a clear understanding of the materials. Polyurethane is an elastomer that falls between plastics and rubbers, with superior comprehensive properties not found in ordinary plastics and rubbers. It possesses excellent properties such as oil resistance, wear resistance, radiation resistance, high load-bearing capacity, and shock absorption.
Nylon is a plastic made of polyamide resins. Its synthesis was a major breakthrough in synthetic fiber industry and a significant milestone in polymer chemistry. It has high mechanical strength, good toughness, and high tensile and compressive strength. It has strong absorption capacity for impact and stress vibrations, and its impact strength is much higher than that of ordinary plastics. It is also corrosion-resistant, highly resistant to alkalis and most salt solutions, as well as weak acids, engine oil, gasoline, and aromatic compounds and general solvents; it is inert to aromatic compounds, but not resistant to strong acids and oxidizing agents. It is self-extinguishing, non-toxic, odorless, weather-resistant, inert to biological erosion, and has good antibacterial and antifungal properties.
In terms of high-temperature resistance, nylon wheels are significantly stronger than polyurethane wheels. In terms of rotational flexibility, both are comparable and perform well. However, in terms of waterproofing and noise reduction, nylon wheels are inferior to polyurethane wheels.
