The Historical Origin of the End of Heat Solar Term

Every year from August 22 to 24 in the Gregorian calendar, when the sun's ecliptic longitude reaches 150°, it is the solar term "End of Heat". This year, the End of Heat falls on August 23.
The term "End of Heat" first appeared in the "Guoyu". The Western Han's "Huainanzi · Astronomy" explicitly included "End of Heat" among the twenty-four solar terms.
The Han Dynasty's "Xiaojing Wei" records: "Fifteen days after the Great Heat, the Dipper points to Kun, marking the Beginning of Autumn. Autumn means that things begin to contract here.
Fifteen days later, the Dipper points to Shen, marking the End of Heat, indicating that the intense heat is about to retreat, hiding and quietly withdrawing.
Yuan Wu Cheng's compilation "Explanation of the Seventy-two Pentads of the Monthly Ordinances" mentions: "End of Heat occurs in the middle of the seventh lunar month. 'Chu' means 'stop', indicating that the hot period ends here.
The "Chu" in End of Heat means "termination", signifying that the summer heat officially ends and the meteorological autumn begins.
