Comparison Table of Cast Nylon (MC Nylon) and PA66 Performance

Abrasion Resistance Analysis
MC Nylon More Abrasion Resistant
High Crystallinity MC nylon molecules are arranged more tightly, with crystallinity as high as 40-50%, resulting in higher surface hardness and stronger abrasion resistance.
Self-Lubrication Low coefficient of friction (0.1-0.3), generating less heat during operation and reducing material wear.
Test Data Under the same conditions, the wear rate of MC nylon is usually PA66 20-30% lower.
Abrasion Resistance of PA66
PA66 has good abrasion resistance, but it is limited by its lower crystallinity (about 30%) and higher water absorption (mechanical properties decrease after water absorption).
Lubricants (such as molybdenum disulfide) or glass fiber reinforcement are usually added to improve abrasion resistance.
How to Choose?
Choose MC Nylon Suitable for high-load, low-speed wear-resistant applications (such as mine machinery bearings, conveyor belt pulleys).
Choose PA66 When high temperature resistance or complex structure is required (such as automotive engine components, precision gears), the abrasion resistance can be improved through modification.
In the comparison of base materials, Cast nylon (MC nylon) has better abrasion resistance than PA66 , especially suitable for applications that do not require complex molding and have strict requirements for wear. However, if the ambient temperature is high or precise molding is required, PA66 (especially reinforced modified types) is still a better choice.
