While only differing by one character, nylon wheels and nylon gears are distinctly different in form and function, possessing significant differences and application ranges.
Nylon Gear
Nylon gears possess excellent comprehensive performance, including mechanical properties, heat resistance, wear resistance, chemical resistance, and self-lubrication. They also have a low friction coefficient, a degree of flame retardancy, are easy to process, and are suitable for reinforcement and modification with glass fiber and other fillers to improve performance and expand their application range. Furthermore, their overload protection function ensures that when the torque is excessive, the gear itself is damaged, and power transmission is interrupted, thereby protecting downstream devices or personnel safety and reducing losses.
Cast nylon gears are most suitable for parts that are sensitive to lubricant contamination or where frequent lubrication is impractical. They also prevent damage to mating gears or connecting parts, are quiet, and show remarkable effectiveness in various industrial applications such as textiles, papermaking, printing, and machinery.
Nylon Wheel
A nylon wheel (polishing wheel) is a type of composite plane wheel formed by pressing together several polishing wheel segments coated with a uniform layer of polishing oil on their outer surfaces. Its construction is relatively simple and its structure is singular, but it plays an irreplaceable key role in the polishing field.
Typically, nylon wheels are made from materials such as cotton cloth, fine felt, silk, and deerskin using different methods depending on the specific application. For example, sewn cloth wheels, non-sewn whole cloth wheels, and air-cooled cloth wheels all have different application areas.
